Yasumi

Yasumi means "break" or "rest" in Japanese. It sounds better than "have been lazy" or "have had nothing too interesting to want to write," so that's what I'm using.

It's going to be an interesting night, as I sleep through the 2008 US Presidential Election. I'm hoping that Obama comes out on top; it looks like it's going to happen, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

If McCain wins, my decision for whether to return to the US will be affected. Options include more years on JET (learning Japanese, living in Japan, riding motorcycles, i.e. good things!) or moving abroad, to places foreign yet welcoming. I'm glad to be American. I just don't feel the need to owe my life to "it" if "it" makes a really bad decision.

yeah, this turned out better than last time. imagine being in a foreign country during the 2004 election and trying to answer the question, 'why did your country elect george bush AGAIN?'
